This book presents a comprehensive account of kinetic catalytic methods (KCMs) in analytical chemistry, with special emphasis on ligand substitution reactions of transition metal complexes and their analytical applications. Analytical chemistry has evolved significantly with the increasing need for highly sensitive, selective, and cost-effective methods for the determination of trace-level species in environmental, biological, and industrial samples. While advanced instrumental techniques such as AAS, ICP-MS, and mass spectrometry offer excellent sensitivity, they are often expensive and require sophisticated infrastructure. In this context, kinetic methods of analysis, particularly catalytic kinetic methods, provide a powerful alternative. These methods exploit the relationship between reaction rate and analyte concentration, enabling detection at ppm and ppb levels with relatively simple instrumentation. The present work is based on extensive research in the field of ligand substitution kinetics and catalytic reaction mechanisms, aimed at developing economical analytical methods for trace determination of toxicants and environmentally significant species.
