My book is about how flexible working conditions affect employee job satisfaction. It looks at the growing shift away from traditional, fixed ways of working and examines whether giving employees more freedom over when, where, and how they work actually makes them happier and more satisfied with their jobs. What makes the book different is that I don’t present workplace flexibility as simply a good or bad thing. I look at both sides. Flexibility can give employees greater autonomy, improve work-life balance, increase motivation, and make people feel more in control of their professional lives. But it can also create problems such as blurred boundaries between work and personal life, burnout, isolation, communication difficulties, pressure to remain constantly available, and challenges for managers. The main idea of the book is that flexibility itself does not automatically create job satisfaction. Its impact depends on how it is designed, implemented, managed, and experienced by employees. So, in simple terms, the book explores the promise and the hidden costs of workplace flexibility, and asks a fundamental question: Can giving employees more freedom actually make them happier at work?
